Over the last few years, whilst on holiday, I have been drawn to looking at old barn doors and  photographing my favourite ones.   I love the look of old wood with peeling paint and rusting metal features.  The doors I photographed were on ancient barns that were still being used, but had a slightly neglected air to them.  Eventually I decided to explore and reproduce small sections of these doors in pastel and charcoal.  After starting work and observing the photographs carefully I realised that there were many more layers of colours and textures than expected.  Here are the first seven of the series.  If you are interested in buying any of them email me with your contact details and we’ll arrange for you to view them.  I have produced quality reproductions of the Barn Doors Series at accessible prices.  They are available mounted and framed or mounted with a back board.  I also sell greeting cards of these images at my studio.
