Here’s my introduction to the piece:
Here’s some photo’s of the finished piece.
I have produced an installation in situ that addresses the question Can women who Yarnstorm be considered warriors?
I have drawn on my experience of facilitating 2 years of Yarnstorming with a theme of Trees Are Our Friends for Nether Edge Festival 2016 and 2017. Parts of the installation consist of items made for the Yarnstorming as well as instances of my own work
Through this work I claim recognition for women who knit, crochet or sew, and become warriors through the gentle art of activism.
Come and see what has startled Ananconda (from Class Two at the Zoo by Julia Jarman illustrated by Lynne Chapman) who I knitted for the Yarnstorming.
